“What Does That Look Like For You?”

Recently I was asked, “What are you thankful for today?” And of course, my mind starts moving like gears in a manufacturing plant. How do I narrow down to just one thing? Don’t you just dread the fear of missing or overlooking something after it’s all it’s said and done and you’ve hit the send button? Yeah, me, too!

So I sat quietly for a bit (a very short bit) and allowed my mind to wander — for just a bit longer. I started this mental list that began with breath, life, health, family, friends, a place to call home, security … you know, the list looks a lot like yours right now, yes?

But then I started to listen to what The Holy Spirit was whispering — in that stillness …

The ability to see

The goodness of GOD in the way He has lavishly loved on me throughout my entire life, even when I didn’t really know Who He is nor the depth of what He went through for me …

The miracle of raising three children that know my GOD and honor Him and welcome Him into their lives …

The way His angels have protected me from harm that I didn’t even know was lurking …

The transformation in the lives those who were once strangers to the GOD Who saved them …

The over-the-top experience of holding my first grandbaby and to have her hug me back …

The healing and restoration of those who have been prayed for and prayed through their circumstances …

The lightbulb as it illuminates the eyes of a woman who suddenly realizes her true worth and identity in Christ

The beauty of friendship and sisterhood in those who were once strangers …

Oh, Sister, the list is endless! And that in itself is praiseworthy!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! 1 Chronicles 16:34 ESV

This is your chance, Girlfriend, to speak aloud and give thanks. In the comments (that’s the box at the bottom of this message) let’s get it going — it will be our round table of praise. Say as much as you want (feel free to high five the other women in the Tribe) — I hand you the mic. It’s good to take a moment to pause and look around at all that you’ve been blessed with. Sometimes it gives us a brighter perspective.

I love you to Heaven and Back ~~

  1. Thank you for the opportunity to list SOME of the blessings which came from God: Sobriety (which led me to Jesus), amazing family and friends, neighbors, church and church family, my sound ministry at church, my home and neighborhood, my furbaby dog, living near the beach, a comfortable lifestyle, opportunity to travel (well, in nonCovid times), hiking and fishing while enjoying God’s creation, swimming/snorkeling in warm tropical waters and seeing the beautiful colors of the fish, my health! So much more, I could go on all day…

  3. Love this message and the ability to praise and thank the Lord once again for all He has done and continues to do.
So grateful for His faithfulness to watch over us and be with all of my family, even though we live 100’s of miles apart.
His Word…to soak into it. Be bathed and instructed…comforted and reassured.
To just sit at my Father’s feet and cry out to Him, and know that He’s not too busy to listen.
That His love for me is immeasurable and He takes care of every little detail of my life.
To GOD be the GLORY!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
