Lift Your Spirit – “The Joy of the Lord”

Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 ESV

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name! Psalm 103:1 ESV

Has it been a good week for you Friend? Or has it been one of those “I’d rather not repeat” kind of weeks? Perhaps it’s been a blurry week with so much activity that you can hardly catch your breath much less remember everything that cycloned around you. I get you. All of you. And all of it. A little bit of everything.

But nothing is too hard for the Lord Most High. Because He’s got all of it under control and more than we know. So, you can comfortably wipe the sweat off your brow and move forward in confidence. Nothing surprises Jesus.

You’ve probably heard me say it before, but it bears repeating: When things are going sideways, praise Him. With tears streaming down your face and hard decisions are begging for your attention, praise Him. If confusion, frustration, really hard days of life are just seemingly sucking the life out of you, praise Him. Looking at the bank account and the bills coming in don’t balance out and you’re in panic mode, praise Him. Relationships coming apart at the seams and no one understands you, praise Him. Health issues are looking bleak and you’re feeling hopeless, praise Him. Having difficulty getting the prayer out of your mouth because there’s pain in your soul, praise Him.

Why? Because if you know Jesus, He’s waiting to hear from you and He’s got a track-record that’s unbeatable. It’s called trustworthiness. He’s the very definition and essence of confidence and assurance. I speak from experience, Sister. The trials – they don’t magically stop the moment you make your “come-to-Jesus” commitment. The difference is moving forward you know Who will get you through them as He walks with you to the very end.

Preach to yourself, Girlfriend. Recite those Scripture verses – until you are speaking them in your sleep. GOD’s Word is mighty and can penetrate your mind before you even experience the changes that are up ahead. Because those changes are there – we just have to trust and obey until we get there.

So, hit replay on this song until you are getting the hang of singing this song like it’s second nature. I can guarantee the rest of your day will unfold much better.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~

  1. Oh yes! Joy in the Lord. I will praise Him. The week has been good, only because I put my trust in God. If I don’t give Thanksgiving and praise, the week will be stressful. Thank you for these beautiful and helpful blogs. The song is fantastic. And captioned so I can memorize it. “The joy of the Lord is my strength. Bless his Holy name.” Bless you gf! ❤️🙌🎶Sent from my T-Mobile 5G Device
