“How to Be Brave” – Annie Downs on Joyce Meyer’s Talk it Out

It’s one of my goals to aim high enough to lift others, because let’s face it, life is hard and it kind of eases the pain a bit to know that our struggles are acknowledged. That someone who knows us sees us. Okay, I see you nodding your head. So, you agree, right? Let me look you in the eye from across this table that we’re both sitting at today and let me say that what you are going through need not be laid out on the table with all your details, but I want to lighten the burden – even if it’s just for a moment. Because I do know that it hurts and it’s hard. And I’m so sorry you’re having to go through that.

And yet, what if we’re both missing the point of our purpose in going through our present hard season? Just suppose that GOD has real purpose in this thing we’re facing (because deep down you know He does) and we’re actually being called to rise up to the occasion so that we can continue to grow and mature into the person we have been designed to be. Our natural inclination might be to shy away or back down from the opportunity rather than to armor up and be brave.

Some of us are struggling with very hard things in our lives right now. And bravery might sound like the furthest thing from our finite minds. We just want GOD to fix it already. I get you, Sweet Friend. There have been many times when I’ve felt like, “GOD, You want me to do what?!” Or better yet, I’ll admit to having said (red-faced), “Oh, Lord, You must have the wrong person for this – You probably meant for someone else (someone more talented, equipped, intelligent, experienced, taller, wiser, younger, prettier, etc.) to do what You’re asking …” Anyone but me.

13 I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] Philippians 4:13 Amplified

Grab your favorite hot drink, a notepad and listen to this conversation with some friends who will talk it out about being brave to do the will of GOD and coming out fulfilled beyond belief.

Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you everywhere you go.” Joshua 1:9 NCV

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~

  1. This is really good Linda. I am brave and bold but it is different than before finding Christ. My strength and confidence are now through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. I certainly do look up and ask this is really what I’m supposed to do? You got to be kidding me!  I’ve had many arguments with God the last year. But yes I do what He directs me to do. I must pray.A lot of this comes naturally for me. (Most times) I always relate to your blogs. Thank you for moving me forward in my walk with the Lord.Sent from my T-Mobile 5G Device

  2. Yes, I want to aim high enough so I will continue to “lift” others. I love Christian lingo. Very important to learn to listen, acknowledge others struggles. Sent from my T-Mobile 5G Device
