Words have a powerful impact on our lives. GOD spoke things into being that never existed. Genesis chapter one declares how it all started.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3 NIV
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26 NIV
Multiple verses in that first chapter repeatedly declare that GOD spoke and it was. Phenomenal!
Our own words have incredible influence on how we live out our lives – even unconsciously. And so the foundation of what we believe must be spoken out loud. Our own ears must hear the words that we proclaim. There is no greater reason for us to speak Scripture – read it, recite it, however it gets out of our mouths and penetrates the atmosphere around us – if not for us to hear the Truth of GOD’s Word and to get so accustomed to hearing it that anything else would seem erroneous.
The old phrase of, “Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never harm me” is so far from the truth. Words can harm – words can kill – words can destroy. We must armor up, guard our hearts and remove and replace error with the Truth.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV
Practice daily. That’s how we do this. Until it is so engraved upon our hearts and minds that we can detect what is not truth.
Come and listen to these women of faith speak truth into your space and be blessed by their transparency and encouragement.
