“What Does It Mean to Have Free Will?” ~ Lisa Whittle

You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12 NLT

For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17 NLT

I find it interesting that people who are non-believers to declare that Christians are restricted from living a free life. If anything, Christians are the most free individuals there are!

We are free from the tyranny of the world because we know that we are accountable to the GOD we serve because we have surrendered our lives to Him. Choosing Christ means that we have decided that there really is a better way to live and be the best versions of ourselves ~ the version He intended for us to be all along.

Inside of this freedom is the ability to choose wisely. We have the gift of free will and can exercise it as we please. If we are faithful and obedient, we will choose to honor GOD by living according to His Will simply out of our love and devotion to Him ~ not because we are instructed.

And because our focus is to honor GOD with our lives (also known as worship), we have the ability to choose the best things to feed our minds and souls. It’s something to consider: we were bought at a high price ~ the Blood of Jesus. That makes us extremely valuable. To willfully make decisions that would harm or dishonor that value would be sinful.

Come and listen to this powerful roundtable discussion filled with transparency, honesty and compassion. I’m sure you will walk away with a greater sense of how much GOD loves you and believes you are worth taking the time to examine every decision you make for yourself.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
