“It’s Never Too Late”

If you’re reading this, you woke up to a new day. GOD has work for you to do and He’s not done developing you for it.

As humans living in a fallen world, we can easily get caught up in the nonsense of phrases like: “I’m just not good enough for …” or “I could never do …” or “I am always making stupid mistakes …” or “Why would GOD choose me to do …” or the classic “I’m just a …” You can fill in the blanks with what you tell yourself and put up it all up against what GOD says about you and it just doesn’t stand. There is simply no truth to any of it because they’re just a heap of lies that the enemy of your soul wants to toss in your path to trip you up.

 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 NLT

Notice the word: masterpiece. Masterpiece can be defined as a work of outstanding artistry, skill or workmanship. You, my Sweet Friend, are truly GOD’s work of art. You’re as fine and fancy as it comes and an original ~ there is no one like you. That should put a smile on your face.

Let me share something with you and maybe it will put you at ease.

I tend to get entangled in my mistakes and foibles of the past. When I dwell on them long enough, I begin to engage in an inner dialogue that causes me to feel so embarrassed and inadequate that I become self-paralyzed. My mind wanders onto a road of “remember how you did this and that and made a fool of yourself?” and the spiraling trail leads me down that path to “I can’t live this down and everyone is still thinking about it.” When actually no one has given the incident a second thought.

However, you can see how this kind of situation can occupy far too much time and energy and steal confidence and joy in the process. Suddenly there’s no room for stepping forward in the boldness of a new day. And that’s when the delete button must be pressed. Sometimes we have to strain to reach out there to hit it ~ but do it!

The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
    His mercies never cease.
²³ Great is his faithfulness;
    his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT

This Scripture verse is where my heart lands when I think about new beginnings. Because it dispels and negates all the lies that the world wants to feed me. The condemnation and guilt are eliminated in the Eyes of GOD. He sees a new day every day.

So, why is it so hard for me to wrap my brain around this? Perhaps it’s the pollution that surrounds me ~ remember, we’re in the world but not of it. And while we’re still here, we have to do everything we can to stand our ground and guard our hearts from the toxicity we’re subjected to.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NLT

Gotta change the way we think. And it’s not in our power to simply change channels. Calling upon the power of GOD through the Holy Spirit to transform our minds by letting the Word “wash” our thoughts ~ about everything. Let that sit with you for a moment.

If you’re fully surrendered to wanting to do things GOD’s Way, then get ready for some remarkable stuff to come your way. Be prepared, Sister, you’ll be stretched to grow in the process. Nothing of value comes easy but will be worth every second. The testimonies that you will have at the end of it all (notice the plurality ~ you’ll have countless blessings for which to praise GOD) will light up the future for the ones coming up behind you.
