My Help and My Deliverer
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
40 I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
2 He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:1-3 ESV
This tender and very soulful worship and praise song is short and straight to the point. There is no fluff; you don’t find fluff in the harshness of difficulties. Maybe that’s why it is so powerful. It resonates with groanings articulated from deep down in your spirit that seem to rise up from a place of brokenness ~ that is, until Jesus shows up.
Perhaps as you listen to these lyrics it will take you to a very humble place. It’s possible you’ll be finding yourself in this song. Maybe even feeling the freshness of the mud that recently covered your own hands and feet. This could be a sacred moment for you here, to reflect and thank GOD for the distance that now exists between then and now.
Come and take a moment to just soak this one in ~ let it minister to you, Sweet Friend. You just may have found one of your new favorites to add to the top of your playlist. I know I have.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
