You may have heard the phrase, “Check your heart.” But does it really sink in to those places where we are less likely to go there? Let me lean in for a bit … Are we willing to be so transparent and vulnerable with the Lord that we are willing to let Him call us out on behaviors, thoughts, activities … that just are of no value to us … to the point of staring it all straight in the eye and purging it from our space?
If I’m totally honest with you, Friend, I don’t always want “see” what GOD is bringing to the surface when it’s not so pretty. It’s downright embarrassing to even consider that He has seen it stored down inside of me for as long as it has been. Let’s be real here, GOD sees straight through us and nothing is hidden from Him. He created us, so He is fully aware of what we try to cover up and conceal and where we think we’re hiding it. There’s no “fig leaf” big enough to camouflage stuff, just because we want to “ignore” it or think it’s no big deal.
Beth Moore’s approach is so inviting and genuine, it’s easy to sit with her and listen to what she has to say. In this session, you may hear somethings that make you uncomfortable, you may even become uneasy ~ but don’t push back ~ let the Holy Spirit minister to your soul and see if there is anything that He may be highlighting for you (like with a huge bright yellow marker). Beth’s delivery won’t sugarcoat nor leave room for excuses ~ she’s straight up with the Gospel because she knows the Gospel straightens us out.
Perhaps it’s a moment for you and the Lord to settle a few matters of the heart.
