“How To Live By Faith In The Storm” ~ Christine Caine

23 As he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves—but Jesus kept sleeping. Matthew 8:23-24 CSB

Are you being rocked by a violent storm in your life? If this is your present situation, I am so sorry you are going through all that ~ truly I am. No stranger to the harshness of life’s turbulent winds and rocky waves, I’ve been through my share of hurricanes and monsoons. They are not my favorite place to be.

In this Scripture, Jesus and His disciples were in a boat when a fierce storm suddenly hit them in the middle of the sea. These friends of His had just been eye witnesses to several miracles that Jesus performed. But when the storm slammed against them, they panicked ~ even knowing that Jesus was in their midst.

Had they forgotten that Who He was in those threatening moments? Had their faith been rocked so hard that they felt abandoned by GOD? I know that I have had these same emotions flood my mind in a moment of severe challenge. And perhaps you have reached this point of desperation as you feel the waves crashing up against you.

25 So the disciples came and woke him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to die!”

26 He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Matthew 8:25-26 CSB

Jesus calmed the entire storm. But He called out His friends for failing to believe that GOD was going to protect them. In their desperation, they looked at their circumstances and completely forgot that GOD Himself was always there ~ in their presence. Literally.

Join me for a prayer and praise break as we listen to the wisdom of GOD as it is presented in this brief reminder from Christine Caine. It is my prayer that your faith will increase as a result of the power of His Word moving in your life today. And that no matter what your storm may look like, remember that Jesus is always in the boat with you.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
