13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, Philippians 3:13 ESV
12 He has taken our sins away from us
as far as the east is from west. Psalm 103:12 NCV
No, I didn’t change the day for Lift Your Spirit praise and worship ~ I simply ran out of steam. Fatigued to the max. At the end of that long day, I collapsed in a heap on my bed. But I had to share this praise song with you, because it lifted my spirit. And the Lord knows I needed that uplift.
Sometimes I think that we get so caught up in trying to perfect everything we do, that we throw up our hands when things don’t go as planned. The problem is that our raised hands still have our clenched fingers wrapped around what we are striving so hard to make happen ~ on our terms, that we can’t fathom doing it any other way (even perhaps, a better way). Our raised hands need to release ‘it’ (you can define whatever ‘it’ is) and raise open hands of praise.
Let me say that I caught myself getting ready to go rogue when I realized I was missing (my own imposed) deadline. My pride was on the tipping point of spilling into my favorite thing to do: connect with you. I (almost) started to mumble words that sounded like: I never miss a deadline … my consistency is what people count on … this is how I’ve crafted things to roll … on and on and on my thoughts were on a roll. Until …
I realized that I don’t do ‘this’ for the sake of y’all liking me or following me or eliciting comments from you. I do this for the sake of anyone getting one step closer to the GOD that loves her beyond her wildest imagination. And that’s what this praise song is all about. Telling her that yesterday has been dealt with at the cross and Jesus stands with arms wide open to receive her into a new day and a brand new journey.
I want her to know there’s reason for living. And the Lover of her soul will go the distance with her.
Whatever you’ve done, wherever you’ve been ~ Jesus already knows. He simply waits for you to tell Him all about it, how much it hurts, and that you want Him to show you a better way. The mistakes (sin) you’ve made, He will forgive you. You are not your mistakes. You are known. You are loved. You are seen. You are valuable. You are pursued.
Come and rejoice with me through this song, Sister. Sing, dance, and tell Jesus how much you love Him for all He has done. Because yesterday is gone. You awakened to today. There’s a reason it’s called the Present.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
