Lift Your Spirit ~ “Victory Is My Name”

23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
    He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
    for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.
Psalm 23:1-6 ESV

I don’t think I’ll ever read the twenty-third Psalm the same way after engaging in this praise and worship song ~ it just took it to a whole other level!

And just like the food we eat and the movies we go see, we all have our preferences about how praise should look and roll out. As for me, I can welcome a good energizing song that lifts up the Name of Jesus. My Orthodox Jewish friends have taught me how to celebrate the goodness of GOD. It need not be somber. And just because I’m rejoicing with the voice GOD gave me, doesn’t mean He intended for it to always be at church-mouse level. *smile*

I love Sinach’s Caribbean flair and style in her praise and worship ~ she’s reminding us that Jesus is the reason we celebrate and we should be joyful.

So, get on your feet, Sister … the twenty-third Psalm is calling your name and declaring your victory in Jesus. He won’t let you go, He’s your Shepherd. He will honor you in the presence of your enemies, so take heart and receive His abundance ~ it’s intentional.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
