So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. Hebrews 6:1 NLT
5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 2 Peter 1:5 NLT
If we were to leave a baby to her own devices, would she thrive, much less grow? If we have dreams and aspirations saved onto our laptops and tablets but allowed them to remain there, do we have the right to throw a tantrum for not seeing them come to fruition?
So, when we come to Jesus for salvation but stop there, at the altar, and didn’t pursue Him beyond that moment in time, how would we have the ability to live the life He promised us if we choose to remain ill-equipped?
The Bible is clear about our spiritual growth and development. Much like an infant, we start on milk then move onto foods that require chewing and digesting, and all the while we are using that fuel and the nutrients to grow and mature. The more we learn about GOD, the more we develop into that Daughter He designed us to be. Our faith muscles get worked out with every life lesson and we apply what we learned from the last lesson.
We were never meant to live a life of frustration, drowning in fear and anxiety. GOD has all the answers ~ we do not. So, this walk of faith must be fed and nourished by Him ~ we digest His Word to know His Will.
Come take a break with me and listen to this straightforward podcast from John Bevere. It may challenge you, and perhaps you needed that extra shove in the right direction. We were meant to live empowered by the Word of GOD, and that requires us to get in it.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
