Lift Your Spirit ~ “Joy”

¹⁰ Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 ESV

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
    let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Psalm 95:1 ESV

Did you wake up with joy in your heart? Perhaps you did … but it’s also very possible that you had a really rough night and joy is the furthest thing from your mind.

If you’re the kind of person that remembers that there’s always something to be thankful for … knowing that speaking a little ounce of gratitude on your lips can change the whole trajectory of your day moving forward … you’re one step ahead.

However, if you’ve been in a funk, pit, ditch, hole ~ whatever you want to call it, it’s anything but elevated.

It’s time for a change. Obviously what you’ve been doing is not working. Radical improvement can be yours if you switch it up.

Praise is your weapon, Sweet Friend. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength.

The enemy of your soul wants to steal your joy. He will plot and connive in ways that are so subtle that you hardly recognize that time after time those subtle nuances became huge walls so thick that you didn’t see it coming. Maybe you got caught up in activities that you should have refused to engage in. It could be that you were influenced by persons not caring about your whole person ~ body, mind, and soul ~ and fell away into philosophies and belief systems contrary to GOD’s will for your life. And now you’re paying the price.

You can change all that ~ right here, right now. No need to try to clean yourself up (you need GOD’s help for that anyway). Just speak to Him. Confess it all to Him. Let Him hear the words of your heart from your own mouth.

And then begin to praise Him for His forgiveness ~ because He doesn’t hold a grudge and won’t make you wait to receive His mercy. The humbleness and sincerity of your heart will be known to GOD ~ remember, that’s what He’s looking at.

Reclaim your joy, Sister! Jesus is your JOY! And He is your strength.

It is my prayer for you this day that if you are not yet singing this song, that you will. And keep singing it until you are convinced that Jesus is right there dancing with you as you praise Him.
