5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 Amplified Classic
How differently would your life be if you truly believed that GOD had your best interest at heart in all situations, regardless of what your human eyes saw, and in spite of how our emotions were influencing our judgement?
If I stop long enough to really consider the fact that He is trustworthy beyond my comprehension, it drops me to my knees in utter humility. My human nature can be so easily influenced by what is temporary.
And it is in that pause that can change the trajectory of life moving forward.
GOD is the only trustworthy one. He is the only constant and consistent one. Think on this: you’ve come to this point where you are reading this and listening to the discussion here. GOD’s faithfulness to give you breath in your lungs and blood flowing through your veins is evidence of His promise to fulfill His purpose in your life that has not yet come to its final chapter.
He has never abandoned you. Even before you chose to embrace Him as your Lord and Savior, He waited patiently for you, remaining faithfully by your side. And even as you go back and forth about your faith, trusting Him fully some days, and not so much other days ~ He doesn’t leave you.
Unfortunately, we transfer our imperfect relational experiences onto a divine and Holy GOD. When people fail us or disapprove of us, we think that He will do the same if we disobey. That’s not how GOD works.
When we encounter disappointment or devastation, we question the love of GOD ~ why would He allow those things to happen to us if He loved us? While we don’t always have the privilege to experience the answers to those troubled times (this side of Paradise), we must remind ourselves He is Sovereign. In other words: He has His reasons and He can choose to reveal His ways or not. Period.
And those moments when we are crying into our pillows because we simply want our way, GOD patiently waits for us to come around to trusting Him for the healing ~ even if we don’t understand.
In this conversation, Lysa, Joel, and Jim bring to light how our trust issues translate horizontally between humans. And quite honestly, this will shine a spot light on how we perceive trust in a completely different manner.
Grab a snack, perhaps your breakfast or lunch, and just listen for a bit.
I pray that your healing will begin even as you listen.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
