“Pardon the Interruption” Part 1~ Joyce Meyer

21 We humans keep brainstorming options and plans,
but God’s purpose prevails. Proverbs 19:21 The Message

If you’re like me, you like your day orderly and well mapped out. You can roll with the tide, but you’re at your best when things just seem to line up as you had planned. After all, being productive makes us feel as though we’re moving closer towards our goals.

During this discussion among friends, there’s an honesty that unfolds and the stark contrast to GOD’s Word sheds light on where we’re really missing out on life when we mistakenly think that more and faster is better.

I’ve come to realize that I tend to make more mistakes or overlook fine details when I am hurried and trying to bust through the gate all in the name of progress. Growing up with the mindset and belief that if I’m moving, I’m getting somewhere. When in actually, if I’m not moving in the Will of GOD, my movement is all in one spot. That’s like being on a treadmill and trying to get across town.

Jesus didn’t live a hurried life. He paused for people that came into His journey. And Jesus didn’t just pause, pat them on the back and keep walking. Our Lord took the time to be present with each and every individual He encountered. Let that sit with you for a bit.

It didn’t matter which side of the tracks people were from, the status of the neighborhood they lived in, the fancy threads on their backs, or the professions they held. Jesus paused for the marginalized, the blind, the widow, the hurting, the lonely, the abandoned, the forgotten, the one with holes in their pockets. He paused and allowed them to interrupt His day.

And if we’ll just humble ourselves for a moment here, we will remember that He paused when we called upon His Name for the first time. He allowed us to interrupt His day.

Come join me for a break in the day to listen to this candid conversation among friends. I believe that you’ll come away with some insight about slowing your pace so that you can hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit and respond to those whom GOD places in your path.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
