10 This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us. He sent his Son to die in our place to take away our sins. 1 John 4:10 NCV
When was the last time you really considered the price Jesus paid for your soul? If you haven’t sat still long enough to think this through, maybe this is your moment, Sister. I’m convinced you’ll walk away very humbled.
We need to have more humbling moments with Jesus. He considers us valuable to the point of death. That’s saying a lot about love and worth.
In a world where we have such extreme ends of the spectrum: one end that says we aren’t worth the dirt that’s stuck to the bottom of our shoes, so go ahead and dismiss your womanhood, your unique characteristics and giftedness as female, and trade it all in for a cheap version of someone’s imagination. The other end of the spectrum says we’re a cut above everyone that crosses our path and nothing’s too good for our liking. In fact, nothing is good enough, and all the substandard counterfeits can just jump in the lake.
It’s time to get down off our high horse and reckon with the fact that we were worthy of eternal damnation ~ until Jesus surrendered Himself on our behalf. That, my Friend, is a miracle.
GOD Who sees, hears, knows all about us and our stinky business … still went to the Cross in our stead. Incomprehensible.
I ask that you create some space for a holy moment with the Lord, and if you can do that now, I encourage you to take holy communion immediately thereafter.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
