Life is about choices. And we all know what bad choices feel like, because in so many ways, we are living out some of the consequences from those bad choices. We also know what good choices, the right choices, feel like, because those ultimately lead to a satisfaction that couldn’t have been foreseen or imagined.
We can only make good decisions based on what we have experienced in the past and whatever information we picked up along the way that persuaded us to lean into a particular direction. Wisdom teaches us that the lessons learned from the hardships of days past can work on our behalf, if we heed the warnings.
The Wisdom of GOD may, at times, not look like what we have prayed for. In fact, the Wisdom of GOD could look entirely like something out of a fiction novel. And that can be so true when we forget that His Ways are much higher than our ways, and His Thoughts are far better than our thoughts. We are human, my Friend ~ and yet we think we have the capacity to think as though we are divine.
When we have a thriving relationship with the GOD of all Creation, prayer and communion allow for us to surrender our limited behaviors and tendencies, and to submit to His leading. To the onlooker or the bystander, our lifestyle may appear off the grid because we are not simply going with the flow or mainstream of the culture. That’s living life in the divine lane with Divinity Himself. You can’t just want to be there ~ you have to be placed there through Jesus. It’s a Family thing.
To take your rightful place in GOD’s Family, you have to be willing to let go of what doesn’t suit you in your new life. Like trying to pass through TSA at the airport with your bags still hanging on you, you will not get through. And while some of your former lifestyle habits may feel so comfortable that you’ll want to try to conceal or hide them in your baggage, Divine x-rays will reveal your true desire is still in your former ways. That half-heartedness will stunt your growth.
You’ve got to be all in with Jesus.
Perhaps this is a holy moment for you, Sweet Friend ~ for you to pause and pray over what the Holy Spirit may be whispering to you to let go. Let me encourage you to just go there with Him and let Him minister to your soul. Whatever is vying for your attention is not worth your relationship with the Lover of your soul.
