The Lord Is My Shepherd
A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. Psalm 23:1-6 ESV
I just can’t seem to get enough of this worship song. It hits the spot for me ~ and maybe because in this moment my spirit is groaning for a lack of words. I find that when I struggle to find the right words, or that they feel as though they’re stuck somewhere between my heart and my mouth, I just need to pray the Scriptures.
Can you relate?
The twenty~third Psalm is such a comforting promise from the Lord. His presence, His protection, His provision … it’s all there. Even the gracious way He celebrates us in front of those who oppose us. His guidance, His wisdom, His restful calm and peace … more than we could ever think to ask or imagine. He sees to our every need.
Only a loving Savior would or could do and be all of these things on our behalf.
Join me for a brief praise break and sing this amazing song. You’ll be glad you did.
