“God, This Is Not Fair” ~ Therapy and Theology

Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness
    because of my enemies;
    make your way straight before me. Psalm 5:8 ESV

18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
    and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 ESV

There’s a lot of hurt and disappointment in this world ~ I’m sure that’s not something new to you. In fact, you may be in the middle of a mess right now that is spiraling in pain and anxiety. If that is your current situation, I am so very sorry, Friend. Please know that I am praying for you.

Perhaps I’m overly optimistic in thinking that we should have come much further than this by now. Surely, as sophisticated and advanced as this culture has become both in intelligence and technology, our level of compassion and understanding would have kept pace. But it hasn’t. Sadly, we seem to have remained on the same step that our forefathers were standing on, saying the same thing.

All the more reason to look up. Because our solutions are not here, nor are they derived from the clever thoughts of man. The injustice and cruelty of mankind has landed us in a heap of a mess. It’s high time to bend the knees of our hearts to the One Who created us and can breathe life back into us. We cannot continue to demand our way be satisfied, in the way we want to see it unfold.

If we erroneously think to ourselves that GOD lets people get away with harmful acts, we have forgotten that GOD is just and righteous. He will redeem the deepest hurt and greatest devastation of the heart. What grieves us, grieves Him.

Join me for a brief break to listen to this tender yet transparent conversation among friends who have experienced their share of deep hurt and painful disappointment. Let them speak life into your space through sharing what the Scriptures have to say on the matter.

And please remember this: the pain that you have suffered has not gone overlooked or forgotten. GOD saw it when it happened and will indeed redeem the situation. Trust Him for it.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
