I have a deep respect for king David. While being called, “a man after GOD’s own heart,” he didn’t try to hide his brokenness and agony. There’s something to be said about people who are not afraid to tell GOD everything that’s in their hearts and on their minds. Not in a disrespectful manner, but out of pure trust believing that GOD is big enough to handle all that mess.
Maybe that’s why I like this song. It reminds me of king David who often cried out to GOD about his enemies and when life was going sideways. The manner in which David confidently pours out his heart before a holy and living GOD is what strikes me … with every fiber of his being, unashamed and unapologetically transparent, David knows that at the end of the day, GOD will not cast him aside.
GOD sees. GOD hears. GOD knows all about it. GOD never stops loving you (me). GOD never leaves us.
Do you have something that you’re wrestling with, Friend? Are you holding on to frayed dreams and drowning in disappointment? GOD can redeem every bit of it. He may not put it all back together the way you remember it ~ or even hope it to be.
But when placed in the Hands of the Maker, He will transform it into something you never expected to see.
Take this brief moment to let the words of this song be your prayer today. If you’re down on your knees, or down on the way your life is unfolding, invite Jesus into your space and let Him do the most unexpected and most beautiful miracle imaginable.
