All that I am, praise the Lord;
everything in me, praise his holy name.
2 My whole being, praise the Lord
and do not forget all his kindnesses.
3 He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
4 He saves my life from the grave
and loads me with love and mercy. Psalm 103:1-4 NCV
When you really stop to think about it, do we need another reason to praise GOD? I mean seriously … you woke up to read this and listen to this song …
Okay, I get it if you awakened to the same mess that you went to bed with ~ the junk didn’t disappear while you slept. Your circumstances may have remained unchanged and the only think different is that they spilled into today. I hear you, Friend. And I can relate.
And so can king David who penned this Psalm.
You don’t need a degree from seminary to understand that David had experienced first-hand GOD’s compassionate forgiveness, grace, and restoration from all the things that had happened during the course of his life. From adultery to losing his firstborn son, to family dysfunction, to being hunted by a former friend and ally, David lived through it all, and came out the other side to tell us that there’s always a reason to praise GOD.
The example we have from David is that he praised GOD through the hard and difficult times ~ always seeking His face, always confessing his sin, and always turning to be close to His Redeemer.
Come and join me for a praise break, especially if your day feels like there’s very little to be thankful for. You still have those lungs that can fill up with the air to sing. You still have those hands that can lift up. You still have those eyes that can look towards heaven.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
