12 But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:12-13 ESV
The title of this podcast caught my eye right off the bat. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been in a season of learning how to pause, back up, and think about how to respond the way Jesus would in a particular moment. And we all know that when a running theme seems to be on replay, GOD is definitely waiting for us to catch the message. Can anyone relate?
I don’t know about you, but loving like Jesus is hard work.
We know that as the Son of GOD, He has character traits that we simply do not possess. Okay. However, that is no excuse to just always “speak our minds.” Whenever I hear someone say those words, it’s usually because they’re trying to defend their rude and inexcusable behavior.
Compassion must go ahead of our words. Love must grace the atmosphere. Mercy must pour over any pain that may come spewing out of the other person.
That’s how I see my Savior. And that’s how I see Him in the Scriptures as he picked up all the broken pieces of people’s messy lives and restored them to better than new.
Join me for a snack ‘n’ break as we listen to this very insightful and encouraging discussion among friends to talk openly about how the struggle is real, but that Jesus gave us the power and strength to love like He did (does).
Come and be reminded of why we fell in love with Him after we realized He loved us all along (in spite of ourselves), and how to share that unique kind of love with those who may not have encountered Him (yet). You just may be the person who loves them to Jesus.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
