“Christianity is More We Than Me” ~ Lisa Harper

34 I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.

35 By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves]. John 13:34-35 Amplified Classic

Community. That’s the intention of the Church ~ the Body of Christ. We were intended to do live with each other.

Maybe it’s just my quirky way of thinking, but somehow I think we are so caught up in appearing ultra sophisticated, hyper-focused on image, exuding a persona of “I’ve got it together” that we have lost our way of being authentic. Anyone else ever have to reach for an eraser?

It’s a human desire to want to be needed, accepted, and welcomed. But in the process of seeking fulfillment, we seem to overlook the fact that it takes two to be in company; three to have a party.

Isolation is a dangerous place to be. Eve didn’t realize that in the Garden of Eden. We didn’t realize that during the COVID-19 quarantine of 2020. This unlikely place of loneliness crept into our households and took us by surprise. Emerging out of that fog was like waking up from a coma. And I think too many of us are still trying to find our way out.

Join me for a break as we listen to what the Scriptures have to say about doing life out loud in community with other Believers. Lisa Harper has that warmth and compassion that will cause you to rethink some of your seemingly harmless habits. You just might walk away re-examining some of those thoughts that may be keeping you at arms distance to others.

Each one of us has the capacity to love on someone who’s going through a rough season in their life. Perhaps it may mirror a former season that we have walked through ourselves. It’s time to turn around and share that comforting gift of love where it may be running on empty for someone else.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
