20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, Ephesians 3:20 ESV
This book is worth the read a second and third time around the block. I say that because you will find things that GOD will highlight in every read, and for different situations.
At first glance, I must say, my brain had not read the title properly. I read it as ‘moves that have power’ rather than ‘power moves’ (as in, power moves me to do ______). When you’re someone like me who has taught fitness classes ranging from weight lifting to kick boxing with gloves and bags, your perspective is slightly different because you’re focused on moves that you initiate and the power you exert. This is so not that.
GOD’s power, when I surrender to Him, has the capacity to move me into spaces and places and confronting faces ~ that I never would have volunteered for.
Do not pick this up thinking you are reaching for self-help options with a Christian perspective. Reach for what GOD has intended for you, Friend, and be encouraged to move forward into that powerful realm, knowing full well Whose you are and that you will have to trust Him for every move He has set for you to engage in. That’s the kind of power that will transform you. Holy Spirit power.
Sarah Jakes Roberts, in her very relatable manner, with all grace and dignity, had me throwing her a high five in the air, nodding to her real-life experiences, and wishing I could just listen to her all day long. Yes, this book is that good.
I love when an author is able to keep my attention by pointing me not to their wisdom but always to the wisdom of GOD. That’s when I know He has His fingerprints all over the book.
Here is an interview with Sarah and Shiela Walsh from TBN discussing the contents of her book. I have only two words for you: “Get it.”
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
