Lift Your Spirit ~ “Come Jesus Come”

For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. Galatians 5:5 NIV

20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Philippians 3:20 NIV

I wanted to share this worshipful song of praise with you today. It’s one of those gospel songs that just never seems to grow old. Plain and simple, it declares the cry of our hearts, “Come Jesus Come!”

You’d be living in a cave or beneath a rock if you didn’t think there’s good cause for the Lord to simply speak the world out into the cosmos because man has spiraled so far off the grid.

There’s no need to travel far for bad news ~ it seems like that’s all there is. Even without doing an internet search, bad news will find you and light up the notifications banner on your devices. I can only imagine what GOD is thinking … how it must break His heart.

And yet there is so much work to be done while we await His return. The work you and I have that was inscribed on the tablets of our lifetime by the Hand that formed us. Whatever that looks like for each one of us, it is uniquely our heavenly assignment that has our name stamped on it and no one else can fulfill it. GOD says, “go and do.”

If you knew He was arriving tomorrow, would you have even scratched the surface? Would you be able to stand firm and be accountable for the talents He has given you to use? Can you say without a doubt that you’ve multiplied and planted seed, watered and cultivated the soil you walked in?

We were never meant to merely live a life believing Jesus ~ we have been masterfully designed to live out a life in Jesus.

That the single altar call and moment of repentance was not the end all. That pivotal moment in time was just the beginning, Friend.

If you’ve never felt the thrill of rejoicing in victory after a breakthrough or a really hard battle that perhaps has lasted years because your Savior brought you through it, you’ve missed out on what your relationship with Jesus could have been. Don’t waste another breath without experiencing His presence.

Yes, He died for your sins. But read on …

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 ESV

That word ‘abundance’ takes us out of the limitations of earthly possessions, status, reputation, titles, popularity, ‘likes’ and ‘followers.’ Those are merely fading moments in time on a spectrum that eternity blows away. Abundance in Jesus is on a level that has no comparison, but is experienced by those who trust Him with the depths of their soul.

Maybe you just needed this moment to create a little space between you and the world. Step to the side and worship your King. Let Holy Spirit breathe a breath of newness into your lungs and begin anew.

By the way, that sweet little woman singing along with CeCe is Shirley Caesar ~ the sweet voice of Gospel music. She’s 82 years young.
