12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 NIV
3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5 NIV
35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For,
“In just a little while,
he who is coming will come
and will not delay.” Hebrews 10:35-37 NIV
If you bleed red, breathe oxygen, and woke up to see this, I’m 99.9% convinced that at some point in your life you’ve felt like giving up. Doesn’t matter what the circumstances or the issues were (are), chances are you either did walk (run) away or came very close. Or perhaps you’re presently strategizing how to do that. No one likes standing at the precipice of despair. That fight or flight is all too tangible, and the urge to flee is stirring inside of you.
You know me to say that your circumstances are the distractions that will change from one day to the next and from breath to breath. What challenged you yesterday will look differently tomorrow ~ but will still challenge you. And you will tell yourself that you just can’t get a moment of peace. It’s in the packaging and in the surroundings ~ these things will morph into something else in a few days.
So, we need to turn to what is constant and unchangeable. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He is the only guarantee in this world. All other things (and persons) are subject to change.
Join me for a break and listen to what Pastor Deena has to say about relying on the One true GOD, Who will empower you to do His Will as you focus on persevering through those unpredictable circumstances. He wrote your story, Sister, and He has great things ahead for you to experience. But you cannot turn the page or jump to the next chapter ahead of Him. Don’t let the enemy of your soul steal and destroy those GOD-breathed dreams.
If you’ll let me, I’ll come alongside you and push ~ then we’ll both get through the barriers of hard days together. Jesus won’t let go of us ~ He promised not to leave us where we are. But we have to use the feet He created for us to take those steps. It’s time to rise and get moving!
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
