Lift Your Spirit ~ “You Are Good” (Ulungile)

You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
    abounding in love to all who call to you. Psalm 86:5 NIV

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8 NKJV

Ulungile! Siyabonga! Siyabonga!

I envision heaven being a lot like this ~ all the unique languages lifting up praise to the GOD of all creation. In holy worship, in their mother tongue, and we all understanding in one mind, and in one accord ~ as we are one in Christ Jesus.

Linguistics has always been intriguing to me, because language connects people (much like food). Language creates culture and community. It unifies.

This simple praise song taught me a few new words. Words that will stick with me. Words that have the power to unite as they give glory to Whom glory is due.

Ulungile! “You are good!” Siyabonga! Siyabonga! “Thank You! Thank You!”

Praise and worship do not have a criteria for appearance. What the eye sees, what the ear hears ~ from the perspective of this limited and imperfect human being ~ are manifestations of the spirit of man overflowing from within.

We are all Image Bearers. We are hand crafted by the Master Artist Himself ~ to mirror Him. Imago Dei.

I hope that you will join me in this pure praise moment, and let these new words resonate in your heart, mind, and soul. And then thank your South African brothers and sisters who shared them with you.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
