Lift Your Spirit ~ “Let The Alabaster Break”

36
One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to have dinner with him, so Jesus went to his home and sat down to eat. 37 When a certain immoral woman from that city heard he was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. 38 Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them. Luke 7:36-38 NLT

Vulnerability can lead us to do the unimaginable. In this case, it also led to healing.

This precious woman threw all care into the very hands that created her. She risked being known by onlookers, and seen by those whose whispers had long degraded her.

In her face-to-face moment with Jesus, she unraveled the hauntings of her past and brought them to the surface in the present. She broke the alabaster box that held tight the secrets of her pain.

She poured it all out at her Savior’s feet. As the expensive ointment flowed out, so did her agony and torment. What was once her life of bondage, was now pouring out freely across the feet of Him who offered her healing and freedom.

This tender act of surrender, trust, and transparency continues to resonate with us two thousand years later. It took great courage to take that step forward ~ to let the darkness that held her captive be suddenly pierced by the Light of compassion.

She didn’t utter a word. She didn’t need to. And neither do you, Friend. Just come.

And if this song speaks of the moans that are stirring deep within, know that Jesus calls you His Daughter and nothing can take that from you.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
