“What The Bible Says About Mental Health ~ Part 1” ~ Joyce Meyer

I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. Colossians 2:2 NLT

Do you have a handful of trustworthy friends that you can call on in your moment of desperation? The Bible encourages us to live with that community of loving and godly people available for those really hard times.

What I most like about this simple discussion is the openness of the environment. No judgement. No condemnation. No finger pointing or wagging in your face. No eye-rolling or loud sighing. Just simple truths about how GOD wired us for healing and recovery in the safety among close trusted friends.

I’ve always felt that one of the necessities of life are those precious girlfriends that will talk you off the ledge or come pick you up if you’re stranded at midnight. You will always need those few sisters (not blood-related) that are willing to speak truth to your face as they sit with you, cry with you, pray with you, and hurt with you.

It’s no secret that we live in a fallen world. Jesus even told His closest friends that in this world we will have hard and ugly times, but to take heart because He has overcome the world. So, we know going out into this world that we are bound to meet up with unexpected harshness and cruelty.

The good news is that as we continue to grow in our faith, we are able to be Jesus-with-skin to those who are hurting; even if only to be present and to weep with them.

It’s time that the Body of Christ rise up to meet that need. And I’m so glad that this topic is the center of this conversation.

Come and listen as this circle of friends unpack the what GOD has to say about the healing of our minds.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
