Sometimes we just need to keep our praise simple and uncomplicated.
That’s what this worship song is ~ pure and genuine.
I know that each one of us has a past that Jesus rescued us from. Most of us would prefer to not think about the stuff contained in it, the circumstances and details. If we had a choice, we would choose to have it stricken from the record and everyone involved or who witnessed it would magically have amnesia. Yes, we would declare it removed forever and left hidden and forgotten ~ way back there. Embarrassment and humiliation do that. Condemnation causes us to feel shame over it.
But GOD …
He chose us and even though we were not deserving of His glance, He redeemed us and our situation. He took what was our worst case scenario and tranformed it into something amazing ~ far better than we could ever think to ask for!
Again, but GOD …
He loves us and refused to leave us that way (notice the past tense).
Let’s intentionally remember His Goodness towards us, and let us face this day knowing that this present moment belongs only to Him.
