Listening Digest: “Laughing Through the Ugly Cry and Finding Unstoppable Joy” by Dawn Barton

10 A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came so that my sheep will have life and so that they will have everything they need. John 10:10 GWT

Life gives us choices. It is our personal responsibility to make the right one. But as life would have it, we don’t always do that.

The Good News is that we don’t have to suffer by repeatedly making the wrong choices. We do have the ability to seek out wise people who will direct us to wise counsel that will encourage us to make the better choice. Again, we don’t always do that.

Dawn Barton in her book, “Laughing Through the Ugly Cry and Finding Unstoppable Joy,” unashamedly shares her life story (her testimony) of how she, too, was on a path of destroying herself at her own hands by making poor decisions. But one day she encountered Jesus, and the trajectory of her life took a turn that she never could have imagined.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re the only one with the type of story that would leave others gasping with horror and disgust, feeling too ashamed to share the reasons behind your hurt and isolation, this book is for you. Dawn makes you feel right at home with her warmth and overflowing compassion. Throughout the book you’ll find yourself nodding your head and throwing her a high~five.

Jesus revealed Himself to her and made her feel right at home as well.

Once again, I listened to this book and was captivated from the start. And I’m sure you will be, too. Dawn openly shares the heartache, heartbreak, sorrow, health diagnoses, death of relationships and a child, just to name a few landmark seasons in her life. Dawn also shares how she found that Jesus was present in every moment of each season that she walked through, and she will encourage you to keep walking, too, Friend.

This is a must~read. You’ll be lifted with the hope that is found in your faith in GOD. You’ll be reminded that not one second passes where you are alone. You’ll be pointed to the Lover of your soul because He wants you to enjoy this life with Him to the fullest.

You’ll be glad you did.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
