Reading Digest: Children’s Books ~”He is Always With Me” by Laval Alsbrooks, Jr.

18 Take these words of mine to heart and keep them in mind. Write them down, tie them around your wrist, and wear them as headbands as a reminder. 19 Teach them to your children, and talk about them when you’re at home or away, when you lie down or get up. Deuteronomy 11:18-19 GWT

Children are truly a gift from GOD.

The children in our lives can be experienced in so many different ways. Sometimes GOD gives them to us through our calling as a teacher, in ministry, as a foster parent, becoming a mentor, through family bloodline, adoption, or as natural biological parents.

It really doesn’t matter the means by which we encounter these precious ones. If we are in their presence, there’s a responsibility to nurture their impressionable minds. GOD trusts us enough to tend to their spirits so that they are fully aware that the GOD that created them will always be there for them.

And perhaps that’s a call to us as adults to first tend to our own sense of security with our Savior. If we are confident and secure in who we are because of Him, then we are more capable of teaching that truth to the littles that are looking up to us for that same assurance when their fears and curiosity surface.

In his book, “He is Always With Me,” author Laval Alsbrooks, Jr. invites you to peek in on a conversation between a son and father that is taking place in the middle of a storm. Comfort and calm in the midst of a storm ~ isn’t that what every child desires?

This easy to read book can be best experienced together by both child and adult. The story will undoubtedly allow for dialogue to develop and possibly lead to other relevant topics in the child’s life.

Let’s be honest here, Friend, fear is a relevant topic at any age 😉.

I especially love the fact that this book is beautifully illustrated as a biracial family. It is my hope that more biracial / multi-racial Christian authors will emerge to promote the extraordinary mosaic flair with which our Creative Heavenly Father designed us, so that children who can identify will proudly do so.

This book is available in all formats: Kindle, hardcover, and paperback.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
