What are you searching for, Friend? Perhaps there’s a longing in your soul that just seems to go unquenched, and you’re tired of settling for second best.
Quite honestly, we humans tend to think that we know where to find that satisfaction, so we look here and there, try this method or that process, consult with this person or follow the advice of that one. Popular culture nudges us to keep experimenting until we “land” on the all-perfect “solution.”
But still come up hungry and thirsty, if not more than before.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 ESV
The deepest longings of our soul were intended to be filled by the One Who created our soul. That’s why if we look anywhere else for that satisfaction, we will always come up empty. We need Jesus to fill that void, that emptiness … whatever or however you describe it … the answer will always be Jesus.
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 NLT
