More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5:11 ESV
Sometimes you just have to go back … to basics … where you took that first step of faith.
That’s why I love this celebratory song. It’s a reminder of ‘why’ Believers have every reason to experience joy even in the midst of stormy circumstances.
We have the Hope of Glory living inside of us. When we come into a living relationship with the risen Lord, we redirect our focus on the eternal. That’s not to say that we’re negligent of our responsibilities here on earth. But rather, we aren’t held bound by the temporary conditions that surround us. And for many of us, those conditions and circumstances really stink!
When we come to realize that we’re only here for the moment ~ for the journey ~ we shift our priorities to a much deeper level. Values are redefined. Things without price tags are priceless and more meaningful. We begin to treasure things that hunters consider without value because our eyes look elsewhere ~ up!
Take a moment for a praise break, will you join me? It’s at the cross that we first took that breath of refreshed air and began breathing in new life. Jesus’ life gave ours new meaning when He laid His down for us.
