I love a good healthy competition. Football season affords me the opportunity to get my fall and winter fix.
Today, I learned a term I had not heard before: the tush push.
As I watched the replay of the play, I observed that those three seemingly silly words were very descriptive of the objective. It is when there is the concerted effort of the entire offensive team (that’s the team in possession of the ball) to shove with full force, (thousands of human body weight and perseverance) the carrier (that’s the one actually holding the ball) over the goal line and into the end zone.
You can surmise that the phrase implies the determination will come from the rear. Keep that in mind.
Sometimes, we need a good tush push from our fellow sisters in Christ to get us in motion to fulfill the purpose GOD has called us into.
Of course, there will be opposition from the enemy and that will be where collision may hit head on. However …
4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. 1 John 4:4 NLT
This is why we do life in community.
You and I weren’t meant to run this race alone. Friend, if you need a good tush push, call on your sisters who are more than willing to get you to your GOD-given calling.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
