28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 NLT
This prayerful worship song just seem to hit the spot for me as I close out this very full and busy week. And I pray that it does the same for you, my Friend.
We are all carrying loads that at times, feel so overwhelming. Sometimes we have just enough energy to lift our eyes up to say, “GOD, how much more … how much longer?”
I get you.
All the more, Jesus gets you and me, in the midst of all that stuff that is weighing us down and He says, “Come to Me …”
He tells us to remember that we can unpack all of it ~ not a little of it, not some of it, and not even most of it ~ but all of it. Release it all into His care by trusting Him with it. That’s when the burden on our shoulders lightens.
He calls us to bring it to Him and receive the blessing of knowing He cares and wants to unburden our souls and minds by trusting Him to do the best with whatever we’re dealing with. It’s in the trusting that we feel the loads lift because we begin to live life knowing that we are not in it alone.
Are you willing to release it into His strong Hands to handle as He pleases? Everything you’ve done up until this point may not have gotten you much further down the road. In fact, you may be experiencing a never-ending cycle on repeat. How’s that working for you?
You have everything to gain, Friend … come … learn what trust looks like, and allow your faith to grow as you connect yourself deeply to the One who can make the unimaginable a reality.
I can testify to that.
If you’re ready, He’s more than ready and able. It’s time.
