I looked up the definition of trust, and this is what Merriam Webster had to say when it is used as a verb (action): to rely on the truthfulness or accuracy of : believe. To place confidence in : rely on. To hope or expect confidently. To commit or place in one’s care or keeping : entrust. To place confidence: depend. To be confident : hope.
Maybe you’ve got a reason right now to trust in Someone bigger or Higher than yourself, for a situation that’s brewing and obviously bigger than yourself. I get you, Friend.
I know of quite a few people who found themselves in predicaments that were pretty messy and looked really bleak at the time. Perhaps you know what that feels like.
These same people decided that their situation needed a miracle, just like you and I are thinking. So, they turned to the only known proven Miracle Worker: GOD.
And in every single instance, He showed up and not only made good on His answer to their plea for help, but answered with a solution better than they could have ever imagined. All of which is documented for us to read about in the Bible.
Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Peter, Esther, David, Ruth, Job, Joseph, Rahab, Paul … just to name a few. From Genesis to Revelation, you’ll find someone whose mind was blown away by the mercy and grace of GOD.
Trust. It calls us to let go of the tight grip that we have on the matter we are facing, and let GOD have His way with it.
It’s hard ~ I get it. And I know that feeling of uncertainty and anxiousness. But even if we choose to worry about the circumstances twenty-four-seven, it doesn’t move the needle on progress. In fact, the only thing we gain is sleeplessness.
It takes ongoing practice to release matters into the loving Hands of the One who loves you too much to let you carry the weight of it all on your own. Turn it loose, Sweet Friend, into His Hands.
He’s got all the time in the world, and is waiting for you to trust Him.
You have everything to gain. Starting with peace.
