Lift Your Spirit ~ “There is Power”

But Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have; but what I do have I give to you: In the name (authority, power) of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—[begin now to] walk and go on walking!” Acts 3:6 Amplified

so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, Philippians 2:10 ESV

If you follow the calendar of events, you will know that we are just two weeks from the most controversial, yet monumental historical event of all history: Easter. To many, it is commonly celebrated as Resurrection Sunday.

What is it for you, Friend?

Just another weekend, ushered in by perhaps an abbreviated workday on the Friday prior, or maybe an optional day off on the Monday that follows. Highlighted by spring vacations, school breaks, retail sales bursting with vibrant colors, and possibly family gatherings at the table, this more than average Sunday has been memorialized for more than two thousand years ~ and shows no sign of letting up.

So, what’s the big deal?

This life altering moment that marked an otherwise usual day of criminal justice with a political agenda on display on a hill in Israel, changed the trajectory of our very souls for all eternity. That’s a really big deal.

And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt-offering? And Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son: so they went both of them together. Genesis 22:7-8 ASV

Only GOD Himself could and would be the architect of a plan that would restore all mankind to its rightful place: with Him. As with all relationships, there must be a voluntary agreement to enter into such a bond with the other side.

A contractual relationship is basically performance-based. With both parties entering into agreement that the relationship is only valid if behavior demonstrated is acceptable to everyone involved. Nothing more, and certainly nothing less.

A convenant relationship is based on how the involved parties treat one another. There are no metrics to determine the solvency or credibility of the relationship, only a solemn commitment built on loyalty and the character of those involved.

Man was on the road to eternal death once sin entered the world in Eden ~ and that was paradise. Environment and resources had no influence on that decision. It was a matter of the heart.

But GOD …

Long before any cataclysmic destruction, GOD had already scripted a plan that would restore mankind to His Family.

He did that by providing Himself as the Lamb for sacrifice.

That, my Friend, is what the celebration is all about. The reconciliation of all time. There is such power in the Blood of the Lamb that was sacrificed, that we who believe it have been celebrating and talking about it for more than two centuries.

And the party is just getting started …

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
