Lift Your Spirit ~ “Nothing But The Blood”

Christ himself carried our sins in his body to the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. It is by his wounds that you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24 GNT

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV

Have you ever tried to do something and no matter how hard you tried, and how many different ways you worked it, it just kept falling short of being ‘perfect?’

Our relationship with the Lord Jesus can only be perfected by Him. When He went to the cross, and He said, “It is finished,” He lovingly gave up His spirit, breathed His last breath and put the period at the end of that sentence and at any feeble attempt we make to try to ‘earn’ our way to Heaven.

We have a saying in the Filipino language (Tagalog): “Tapos na!” The English equivalent is: “Done, and DONE!”

Because GOD is Holy, He can only accept a perfect sacrifice as restitution for sin. That perfection could only be found in His perfect Son, Jesus Christ. No method, process, multi-step program, or recipe for living right would or could ever be good enough … it all falls short.

And to be quite honest, Friend, it really takes the burden off of us trying to do the work (because imperfect humans would only prove imperfection reproduces itself). Sounds all too good to be true ~ but that’s just how much GOD loves you!

We were condemned when Adam and Eve disobeyed GOD. And yet, His love for us transcended that sin and every sin that followed. He made provision for us to be reunited with Him through Jesus. Jesus came and turned things right-side-up and made it possible for us to live as we are designed.

But we have to make that choice to receive it. We have to make that conscious decision to accept what Jesus did on our behalf as the way to be reunited with GOD. No decision is also a decision ~ in the wrong direction. GOD doesn’t view neutrality as a decision. You’re either all in or all out.

It is my prayer for you this day, Sweet Friend, that you’ll pause long enough to consider what you have or haven’t done up to this point. The choice is always yours. The work has already been done.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~
