“Process”

I am forever intrigued by the way God speaks to me.  No, I don’t hear the roar of thunder from the heavens ~~ no, I don’t see the burning bush ~~ but He does communicate with me in a way that grabs my attention. I suppose that’s the awesome part about it ~~ He knows how I listen to Him. I see that as God’s “Creator-to-Creature” communication line.

When I read this during my morning devotional time with Him, I had just uttered a prayer asking Him for guidance and strength to accomplish His Will for my life.

Through my eyes, I saw the “highlighted” words: study, meditate, and obey.  Going back through the trail of words, I saw: continually and day and night. This is “how” I am to handle and process God’s Word in my life.  Non-stop. Without ceasing. 24/7. When I do this, “it will stick.”  Ever have to study a college course or specific material for a work project ~~ so that you would know it like the back of your hand? And why did we have to know it so well? Because “the exam,” or the “testing time,” or the purpose for which you were going to need to use the material was going to occur. The more we know His Word, the more we will likely obey it. We will conform to it ~~ and become transformed by it.

In school and work, the rewards of hard work are usually recognized with notable “stamps of approval.”  Seeing that “A” or 100% on a school thesis ~~ receiving a promotion or monetary bonus or company-wide recognition ~~ these are the world’s ways of taking notice.

But God says prosperity and success will be yours ~~ according to His Will.  And honestly, Girlfriend, when God says these two words, I tend to think of His definitions of prosperity and success as being far more than my tiny brain can comprehend!  Can I get an “amen,” here?

Then He continues with the process by saying to be strong and courageous. Part of me says that I’ll “become” more strong and courageous as I remain in His Word ~~ and then another part of me says I must “choose” to be strong and courageous because the worldly temptations and distractions to lean towards the wrong paths are great and numerous.

God follows up with specific instructions to not be afraid or discouraged.  Again, these are straightforward, with no room for misinterpretation. He knows our weaknesses ~~ He has experienced temptation first-hand. Ah, but He is Our Creator! Who knows what and how much we can handle with His Power. I hear His Voice distinctively saying here to “forge ahead” with the power He gives through His Word because we have been meditating and studying it continually.

And He concludes this passage with the best part of the process: because He is with us wherever we go.

It is my deepest prayer for you this day, Sweet Sister of mine, that you will grab hold of God’s Hand and allow Him to guide you through the process ~~ whatever it is for you at this moment in time ~~ trust Him for every step, decision, and move ~~ and confidently know that He is with you wherever you go.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
