23 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and [f]does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will].
Mark 11:23 – AMP
It’s no secret, we are living in critical times — mask-wearing requirements in public, social-distancing of six feet, disinfectants around every corner of your home. Yes, there is something to be concerned about.
But GOD, my two favorite words of all time, has this entire crisis already wrapped up and packaged in a neat little minuscule dot.
For this present time, this global health crisis has turned our world upside down and inside out. It has become a life crisis.
This new normal IS our mountain.
As I turn to the faithful Word of GOD, He comforts me by whispering: “I Am the Mountain Mover — I created them and they obey My Voice.”
Like many of you, I have a job and there are ‘mountains’ in the workplace — even though my current workplace is at home. There are just ‘those people’ at work that can affect you from afar — can I get an ‘Amen?!’
One day out of utter frustration I called out to GOD — “please Move this MOUNTAIN, Lord!” In the back of my mind, I knew He would answer me — either He would divinely intervene and physically displace my difficult person or He would take me by the hand and walk with me through this mountain of a problem.
I think you can guess what He had planned for me.
Yup, one foot in front of the other — that’s how we went. I exhaled into The Lord’s purpose for my growth and just started to walk. I’m not perfect, so don’t think I didn’t try to reason my way with Him — after all, GOD knows I would do that anyway. But still yet, He loves me enough to allow me to grow into His Daughter of Purpose. Even as I complain.
My “mountains” seem to bear the same characteristics — they seem steep and wide, almost impassable. They exhaust me. They force me to “let go.” Ouch! The grip of my hands have left nail marks in my palms. What I forget is that the One Who bears the true nail marks in His palms did that for me so that I wouldn’t have to bear my burdens alone. Think on that for a moment.
My confidence is in The One whose Hand I take hold of and I won’t let get go. But you know what, Sister? I can’t hold His Hand if my own hand is gripped on my will to take down that mountain. This gentle reminder from The Lord — that He is the mountain mover — because He is the Author of our Faith and it’s confidence in His Power that MOVES all mountains in our path.
You may be saying, “But you said He walked with you through it.” Yes, He did. That was His Choice — I had to realize that GOD is BIGGER than my greatest mountains. So if He says we are walking through it, then that’s what we’re doing. If He says this mountain is on its way out, I have to equally trust His Will — and step aside because it can be seismic activity.
Sometimes I AM the mountain — that must be moved — my attitude, my thoughts — must be aligned with His Will if I’m going to live a committed Christ-Follower life. And I admit to you here, Girlfriend, this side of Paradise I am no where near perfection. So those personal mountains can be my own demise.
If you’re with me in this, you will start to see those “mountains” moving and shaking. Whether they are attributed to external people or circumstances that GOD moves them out, or they are the result of internal mole hills that have been growing over time — fertilized and cultivated by selfish ambitions and sinful ways.
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose].
1 John 1:9 – AMP
This Resurrection Weekend, will you join me in genuine and sincere confession to give your mountains to GOD — whatever they’re made of — and let Him cast them into the sea through your Faith in His Power?
He died and rose to give us Life — let us rise up and embrace His Forgiveness and rejoice in His Love for us.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend!
