Why is it that children can burst into song and no one finds it necessary to hit the ‘mute’ button? What delights me to no end is the mere innocence and purity at which they will carry those beloved notes — hand gestures and facial expressions all in a manner that beats any front row seats to a paid event.
Could it be that they innately know they are singing to a tune that is welcomed and well received — even though no one may be visibly in the room listening or giving them audience?
The Bible encourages us to lift our voices to GOD with a joyful song — to magnify the name of the Lord.
Merriam Webster defines magnification as making something large. When we use a magnifying glass to read or see something tiny, it enlarges the view — not the object.
So how do we magnify the Lord when He is bigger than life? Consider this with me: making Him large in our life so that others can see more of Him and less of us. I think you will agree with me, that a view of Jesus is far better than one of an imperfect human. A dying world doesn’t need more depression, negativity or disappointment — it needs and wants answers to their woes; an uplift, a word of encouragement, a breath of life.
- How would you make Jesus larger in your life so that others would be drawn towards Him? Put your action plan in the comments below.
Sister, do you need a boost? Consider some of the praise songs you listen to … and just burst into song while you praise the Name of the Lord. I find that many of the songs I learned as a new Believer were formed exactly from Scripture. This was how I unknowingly memorized some verses.
And remember, it’s not how well you carry that tune — it’s how much bigger Jesus becomes in your life so that others will see Him for Who He is. Don’t think that there’s nothing in this for you, Sweet Sister — be expecting your own life to start to expand its horizons as Jesus enlarges your territory.
Father GOD, You are truly worthy to be front and center, but I don’t always know how to do that well. I want others to know You and the how much fuller their life will be once they have invited You in. Lord, it is in Your Presence that our problems and difficulties begin to shrink — because You are so much bigger than our biggest challenge. I thank You for giving me the strength and courage to lift my voice to magnify Your Name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~

I’m a little late for “Thankful Thursday” but I’m thinking that’s ok. Yesterday was Thanksgiving & it was a day of beautiful frenzy that I will hold in my memories & be forever thankful to Father God for – for the first time in many years I was blessed with spending it with my daughter & her family. I watched in awe as she & 1 of my grandsons (age 8 & already an amazing cook!) lovingly prepared our Thanksgiving feast for 8 & I – with that same love – cleaned up behind her/them – making sure she continued to have clean dishes/pots & pans needed to cook. Clean-up was always my beloved Dad’s job & he loved it! ❤️ And oh, how I miss him so on holidays (especially Thanksgiving because it was his favorite.. And so, I am so very grateful & thankful for God’s gift & blessing of family as I prepare to move in 2 short days & begin the next step of my/His journey … All Glory Be To God the Father; Jesus His Son, my Savior & Redeemer; and the Holy Spirit, my constant Companion, Intercessor, and Comforter ❤️🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️ Hugs & Blessings, my sweet & precious Sister ❤️
