“Is There Room?”

Believers all around the world commemorate the joyful arrival of their Messiah during the Christmas celebration. When you stop to think about that most humble scene — the fact that there was no place for Him to even have a private entrance … does it cause you to pivot?

There was no room available. His family was rejected at every turn. Imagine how Joseph must have felt, knowing that his wife was on the verge of delivering their first born — and a blessed first born, at that.

Trekking from one location to the next — Mary now in active labor. Rejection after rejection. Joseph just wanted to do the right thing and secure a space for his family. But no one would budge. No one made room.

Until at last, in the least likely places to find the King of Kings, a barn was offered. And Mary having remembered her experience with her cousin Elizabeth just a handful of months earlier, delivered her child.

This Christmas season, allow me to ask you: “Is there room in your heart for the Savior Who came for you?

Jesus Christ didn’t just make a cameo appearance, Sister. There was purpose to His first appearance. And while He physically returned to His Throne with His Father in Heaven, He is every bit with you by way of the Holy Spirit — that is, if you have invited Him to stay.

Maybe you’ve got some rearranging to do in your heart. Jesus is patient — He’ll wait for you. In fact, Sister, He’ll help you move those unwanted things out. All those things that you considered to be your treasures are taking up a lot of space in your heart. When was the last time you took inventory and took a close look at those treasures? Is there anything in there that you wouldn’t want Him to see as He walks in?

Like a good friend, He wants to be ‘invited’ in.

It doesn’t have to be spotless and wiped clean before He steps in — actually, that’s what He comes to do for you.

Consider extending the invitation to the One Who wants to stay permanently and keep you company and give your life meaning and fullness.

Once He takes up residence you’ll find that you wish He’d been there sooner.

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Revelation 3:20 NLT

He brings the Bread — because He is The Bread of Life. So when you share that meal, Sister, you will no longer hunger as you. have in the past. I will tell you from experience that this will be a meal unlike any other and you will continue to want more of what Jesus serves you.

And all because you made room.

Merry Christmas, Sweet Friend.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
