Lift Your Spirit

I hope that Jesus finds me praising Him in all my circumstances and through all my seasons of life. As challenging as it is, I’m certainly going to make the effort to remember to do that.

It’s a target I want to hit — to be found so overcome by Jesus that I am less overwhelmed by the distractions of daily living. Can anyone relate?

Morning, noon and night time — ups and downs of life — I want my first response to be to praise Him.

I’ll admit that I’ve not been consistent with this. In fact, if you won’t tell anyone, I’ll tell you right here and now, that there are times where I’ve missed the mark so terribly that I can’t help but fall on my knees with my face in the carpet.

I like the plain and simple truth of the Gospel — the Good News. That Jesus loves me no matter what — no matter what I’ve done or failed to do, no matter what I’ve said or didn’t say, no matter what I understood or refused to accept … no matter what! And while I may not be able to look at the reflection in the mirror on those awful messy days where I have failed and faltered. He is still so, so good to me. He died in my place knowing I would be this way. How can I not follow? How can I neglect to worship? How can I forget so great a love as this …

For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. John 3:16 The Passion Translation

After all You have done for me … may You find me praising You no matter what may come.
