“Go Ahead, Walk on Water!” by Guest Writer: Robin Gerblick

I have spent a lifetime trying to identify my identity, needy and crawling on the ground for the approval of others and always attempting to squeeze my insecurity into that of another.

That is, until I met Jesus.

There is power in the name of Jesus, the One who walks on water!

As women, we have been called from the beginning of time. Jesus was birthed from a strong, courageous woman, scared crazy pregnant, questioning everything and questioning who she was and the ‘why’ of her existence.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

From the beginning of humanity, God created woman to compliment His creation … a strong-willed, independent woman, perfect in every way.  Her soul sealed for eternity with a soul mate that could only be satisfied by the creator of her soul. And so it was written, her humanity, forever engraved on the tablets of time.

“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” Psalm 46:5

When God created woman, He created her to be equal to man, a powerful union and an undisputed truth that commands respect from both. While Eve was drawn from Adam’s rib, her essence was that of perfect creation, beautiful in God’s sight … He never makes a mistake. You are perfect in His eyes.

 No matter what.

Period.

“For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman, but everything comes from God.”  1 Corinthians 11:12

This may be hard to comprehend, as it was for me, but you were created to be loved, cherished and known by the creator of the universe. The One who breathes stars for breakfast and creates a feast for your eyes on earth. WOW! Do you get that? Your true and precious gifts come from the spirit of God within! There is no truer beauty.

“Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” 1 Peter 3:4

God created woman to completion … to thrive, Spirit, Soul and Body. His plan for us is to live full and fulfilled.

The God of the Universe wants you to invest in your impeccable self care so YOU can invest in others. Your beauty, healthy and whole, shines light on the Creator so YOU can create the light to shine on others. YOU are loved to the moon and more and created in an image that does not fade or shrink from its beauty or design.

Walk on Water!

Do the impossible!

Be the imperfect … the perfect YOU!

“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her!”  Luke 1:45

Go ahead, walk on water.

Jesus did and so did Peter, until the wind and waves whipped up worry and doubt that caused him to question his faith.

That’s what happens when you take your eyes off the prize and venture into the deep on your own. God has taught me I’m capable of the impossible, but not without Him.

And my identity?

It now lies in the arms of the One who wraps His arms around me and tells me I’m beautiful, the lover of my soul and the truth that sets me free.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, I have been given power and authority to do the audacious, the crazy thing.

To believe I am loved and enough.

And that is enough to walk on water!

“Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified! ‘It’s a ghost’, they said and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’”  Matthew 14:25-27
