“Maligayang Pasko!” (Tagalog for Merry Christmas)
Christmas is the most loved seasons in the Philippines. So much, that they begin decorating in August. Sounds incredible, but that’s what the country believes should be done to express their love for the Savior. Even amongst those who do not share the Christian faith, a respect is given towards those who do.
The gathering of family and friends during this beloved time of the year — that’s what it’s about. Commemorating the birth of the Savior, they open their doors and homes to others in an expression of opening their hearts to He Who created them.
I miss my Pamilya in the Islands … but hearing this rendition by a well loved artist whose voice is as beautiful as the words she sings, brings to mind that celebration of jubilee as we gather together to worship Christ the Lord.
The Faithful. Those who have embraced what Jesus came to bring: Himself. To rest in Him as He has already labored over sin for us.
It is my prayer that you can confidently count yourself among the faithful this season. And if you cannot, there’s still time to do that. Right here. Right now. Right where you are. You don’t need to step one foot into a church sanctuary to be sanctified. You can drop to your knees in the middle of your apartment living room and ask the Savior to give you the life He came to give.
Eternally His, you can experience a little bit of Heaven on earth as He makes His home within you.
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 NLT
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. Psalm 86:5 NLT
But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 The Passion Translation
