Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
“‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,’
who was, and is, and is to come.” Revelation 4:8 NIV
There’s just something about praising GOD that lifts the human spirit to greater heights. Maybe it’s because we were hand crafted by the Mighty Hand that stirs our souls to yearn for true satisfaction. And in the midst of our deepest grief — this may be that moment for you, Friend — we can find Him there with us and still yet praise Him.
He is holy because He is GOD. There is none like Him — that is why only He can bear the name “I Am.” Simply because He is.
God said to Moses, “I am who I am. Exodus 3:14a NIV
Some commentaries suggest that this phrase points to “I am who will be.” This causes my layman brain to do a 180-degree move and sends me to this verse:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 NIV
The Lord GOD Almighty is everything we need. He is the only constant in life because He doesn’t change.
And while we have our moments of discontent (that’s putting it mildly), having our occasional fits, stomping our feet out of rebellious disagreement — He remains faithful and steadfast in His Love for us.
