Lift Your Spirit

Breath of fresh air … you know that when you’re confined, there’s that urgency to break free of the boundaries and take in some … fresh air. That desperate need to fill up our lungs with the free ‘stuff’ that is all around us — so that we can likewise exhale.

That free stuff for our lungs grants us the capacity and opportunity to get up in the morning and go about our business — without much thought to the daily grind. We just seemingly breathe in and out … expanding the lungs and the muscles and bones that surround them … taking in the air that we need to make it to the next step.

When GOD breathed life into man, I envision Him doing it much like in the manner we perform CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) — breathing into our mouths to fill our lungs with that precious free stuff. Yes, I believe that GOD intentionally gave us breath so that we would remember to praise Him with it.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6 NIV

He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” Luke 19:40 NLT

Yes, Friend, we were created with the design to exhale praises to our GOD. Scripture even tells us that even creation would shout out if we don’t — because they, too, recognize their Creator.

Don’t hold back. Even when it feels like you can’t. Choose to praise and watch things start to turn around.

yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! Habakkuk 3:18 NLT

You say you can’t find the strength to praise in the midst of your storm. I say all the complaining and grumbling isn’t helping the situation improve for the better. So, why not reach for the One Who has the ability to take your entire mess and transform it all into something you’ll end up thanking Him for? In fact, you’ll probably make it a habit — this praising thing — it’ll grow on you. This praising thing — it somehow changes your perspective and sets your heart to beat to a cadence that you never knew existed.

Take it all in, Sister … breathe.

I love you to Heaven and Back, Girlfriend ~~
