End of the week and maybe you’re jumping for joy … and maybe you’re not … yet.
There are weeks and then there are weeks, can anyone relate? Work deadlines, financial deadlines … you may have some very difficult deadlines staring at you right now and my heart melts for you. Possibly decision deadlines pertaining to a relationship … setting boundaries, deleting contacts … it’s hard. Really hard. And I know that heaviness and burdened feeling when your shoulders are about to give way.
A quick song cannot fix your situation or permanently remove the pain or circumstances surrounding your life in this present moment. But the One Who CeCe is singing to and about … HE can do the miraculous … the unthinkable … the unimaginable. GOD is just that way. And when you have a personal relationship with Him, there’s no telling what He will work out in your life.
I love this song because it just resonates with the JOY found only in Him. Life doesn’t suddenly become perfect, but you will better understand your purpose and calling in it. More than that, you’ll know Who you can trust in those hard moments of life. When that joy just seems to be running thin.
Having a relationship with the One Who designed you gives clarity to the uniqueness that is YOU.
Come take a moment or two or three (because I’m confident you’ll hit replay on this one) and think about the things in life for which you are grateful. Let this song be the anthem to those things.
Jesus is JOY.
And maybe at the end of this brief moment, you will find the space in your busy day to have that conversation about what’s on your heart. Let Him transform it for good, Sweet Friend, so that you, too, can sing in the midst or whatever you’re going through. Let Him give you beauty for ashes.
and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor. Isaiah 61:3 NIV
