In the United States, millions of Americans are celebrating Thanksgiving this week. What should be a time of celebratory gratitude is often filled with immense stress and anxiety.
Sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? And yet, because our misplaced appreciation and thankfulness has morphed into running to the grocery store to pick up everything to prepare a grand meal with all its fixings, stress over the appearance of the house, emotional turmoil over the unsettled relations of those around the table … and possibly our last breath in it all is exhaled into a deflated “oh, by the way, Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!”
Come sit down, grab a hot cup of something and pull out a pen and paper. Listen with me for a brief moment as we listen to John and Lisa Bevere discuss and lead us in a process of rethinking a few things.
